Head Varsity Basketball Coach

Bill Gunn

 

Coach Gunn begins his fifth season at the helm of the Kirkwood Pioneers. The Pioneers are 58-49 during his tenure, earning a district championship in 2009.

Prior to taking over Kirkwood, Gunn spent four years as the Head Varsity Coach at Northwest High School turning around the Lions basketball program into a group that could compete for league, tournament, and district titles.  Gunn spent four valuable seasons as an assistant coach at Jefferson City and served as a head coach at Hillsboro, and Cuba.

Gunn holds a Masters Degrees from William Woods University in Educational Administration, Athletic Administration, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri, graduating in 1992.  A native Missourian, Gunn grew up in Central Missouri and graduated from Cuba High School.

Married to Brandi, and has three children, Sam (11) Abby (10), and Connor (5).

 

Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach

Armeake Estes

 

Coach Estes enters his second season at Kirkwood High School serving as the Kirkwood varsity assistant.  Estes is a graduate of Mehlville High School where he earned numerous honors.  He played in the tradition laden Moberly Greyhound basketball program, and for the Columbia College Cougars where he earned his Bachelors Degree.

 

 



Head Sophomore Basketball Coach

Mitch Fusco

 

Fusco begins his second season at Kirkwood High School. Fusco was a highly regarded coach at Hancock High School from 2000-2009. He led he the Tigers to back to back Final Four appearances. Finishing 4th in 2004 and 3rd in 2005. In 10 years as a head coach, Fusco has an overall record of 160-59
 
 
Fusco is a graduate of Hancock High School where he led the Tigers a 3A State Championship in Baseball. He finished his baseball career as pitcher with a perfect record of 22-0. As a basketball player Fusco had many outstanding accomplishments. His senior year he lead the St. Louis area in scoring and 3 pointers.
 
Fusco played basketball and baseball at Meramec Community College, then completed his career at Missouri Baptist University.
 
Fusco graduated in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesology. Fusco also holds a master's in Education Administration.
 
He is married to Bridget and has three children, Cameron 9, Cayden 6 and Ava 2.

 

  Sophomore Assistant
Basketball Coach

Johnnie Williams

 

Williams begins his first season as an assistant at Kirkwood. A 1990 Graduate of perennial state power Marion High School (Marion, IN), earning all-conference and all-state honors as a three-year starter. Signed with Creighton University, winning the '90-'91 Missouri Valley

Conference regular season and tournament Championship advancing to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. Later transferring to Morehead State University with then top Creighton Assistant Coach Richard (Dick) Fick who was hired as Head Coach.

As a three-year starter and team captain for Morehead State, he scored over 1,000 pts earning all-conference honors, receiving a BA degree in 1995. After graduation and brief career playing overseas, he went on to build a 10-year Management career with several companies including Reebok and Walmart Stores Inc. before returning to the sport he loves basketball. 

Married to Adrea with 3 children, Jazmyn (6), Olivia (3), and Johnnie III (1) living in Lake St. Louis, MO

Head Freshman Basketball Coach

Graham McBride

 

McBride enters his 10th season coaching in the Kirkwood Basketball Program. McBride is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and is a Spanish teacher at Nipher Middle School in the Kirkwood R-7 District.   Mcbride is married to Julia.

 

 

Freshman Assistant Basketball Coach

Ben Woolf

 

Coach Woolf is a proud 2001 graduate of Kirkwood High School and a former member of the Kirkwood basketball program.  Woolf will serve as the freshman assistant coach for his third season. Woolf graduated from Westminster College in 2006 with a degree in business administration and is currently pursuing a degree in secondary education.  Woolf was a two-year member of the basketball program and a four-year letterman in football for the Westminster Blue Jays.
